Jalan Kebun Bunga (22 May 2013)
Jalan Kebun Bunga is the road in
George Town that leads to the
Penang Botanic Gardens .
Jalan Kebun Bunga was laid out for the purpose of linking the Gardens to town. Before it came into being, the main road was
Waterfall Road , a parallel road that forms an intersection with
Gottlieb Road and
Ayer Rajah Road , now known as Jalan Air Terjun. It has since been eclipsed by Jalan Kebun Bunga.
Many of the Hindu temples that were at the foot of
Penang Hill , particularly around the
Penang Waterfall can still be seen along Jalan Kebun Bunga. The biggest of them all are the
Nattukkottai Chettiar Temple and the
Balathandayuthapani Temple , which is the relocated premises of the original Waterfall Temple.
