Where is Hobart Place?

Hobart Place is a small but notable road situated in the heart of the City of Westminster, in central London. Nestled in the Belgravia district, this refined street plays an important role in connecting key residential and commercial areas.

Length and Layout

Hobart Place is approximately 170 metres (or around 560 feet) in length. Despite its short span, it serves as a strategic connector between Grosvenor Gardens to the northeast and Eaton Square to the southwest, forming a gentle curve as it transitions into the larger, leafy square.

History and Development

The street was laid out during the mid-19th century as part of the Grosvenor Estate's Belgravia development, which transformed former marshland into one of London's most prestigious neighbourhoods. Like much of Belgravia, Hobart Place was developed under the influence of master builders such as Thomas Cubitt, known for his grand stuccoed terraces and classical style.
