Bermondsey is a neighbourhood within the London Borough of Southwark. It is located on the south bank of the River Thames, with the neighbourhood of Southwark to the west, Rotherhithe to the east and Walworth and Peckham to the south.

The name Bermondsey was first mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. The name is supposed to mean "Beommund's Island". Once a derelict line of waterfront wharehouses and wharves, Bermondsey today has been transformed into some of the most upmarket residential and commercial properties in London.
