Tesco Penang (GPS: 5.37789, 100.31526), at 1 Lebuh Tunku Kudin 1, 11700 Gelugor, is the first Tesco hypermarket to open on Penang Island. It opened on November 2004, and is located on a piece of freehold land in the MetroEast-Udini development area along the Jelutong Expressway, near the Tunku Kudin Interchange. The building has 275,000 sq ft of lettable area and 1050 car parking bays.
The anchor tenant is the Tesco hypermarket which occupies the 2nd floor of the three-storey building. The car park occupies the ground and first floor, which also has lettable area for other tenants including Courts, Popular Bookshop, KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, The Chicken Rice Shop, Cosway, 600cc, among others.
The Tesco Penang building was constructed by IJM Properties. It was sold to Quill Capita Trust for RM132 million in May 2008.

There are 3 services from Weld Quay to Tesco on Sundays to Thursdays, at 2:00 pm, 5:00 pm and 8:30 pm, and the return trip at 3:30 pm, 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm. On Fridays and Saturdays there are 4 services, at 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 7:30 pm and 10:30 pm from Weld Quay to Tesco, and the return trip at 2:30 pm, 6:00 pm, 9:00 pm and 12:00 midnight.
