The Police Headquarters along Penang Road is an Art Deco style building built just before the Second World War. However, as will all public buildings, it sustained much damage during the war, and was subsequently repaired. The Police Headquarters covers a whole block bordered by Penang Road, Dickens Streets, Transfer Road and Phee Choon Road.
