Desa Pinang 1 consists of 2 blocks of 6-storey apartments totalling 210 units. Desa Pinang 2 consists of 2 blocks of 21 storey apartments, each with 2 bedrooms and a built-up area of 600 square feet. The apartments are all on leasehold tenure. Estimated monthly rental is RM350.

Location

Desa Pinang is 3.6 km from Magazine Circus. It is ideal for people working in the city, and is just a short distance from the city centre along the Jelutong Expressway.

Public Transport

As this is still a newly developed neighbourhood, it is not served by any Rapid Penang buses. The nearest bus routes is to the flats at Macallum Street Ghaut.

Amenities

Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Moh Ghee Cawangan and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Beng Teik Cawangan are the two nearest schools. The nearest markets are the Patani Road Market and the Perak Road Market. The nearest hypermarket is Tesco Penang. The nearest petrol station is Shell Jelutong Expressway. The nearest hospital is Lam Wah Ee Hospital.

Traffic

Traffic along Jelutong Expressway is smooth except during rush hour, when there may be traffic built-ups at the Macallum Street junction. There were regular traffic jams at the interchange to the Penang Bridge, which has reduced somewhat with the widening of the bridge. Nevertheless Friday evenings are when traffic is heaviest on the bridge, with congestion spilling onto the Jelutong Expressway.
