Ancient City , also called Mueang Boran, is a theme park built by the eccentric Thai millionaire, Lek Viriyaphant. Also known as Ancient Siam, it is a sort of theme park that replicates many of the ancient structures of Thailand, either full size or scaled down.

Ancient City covers an area of 200 acres in Samut Prakan, near the famous Crocodile Farm, and is shaped like the map of Thailand. There are a total of 116 structures in the park. To ensure historical accuracy, the designers consulted with the National Museum of Bangkok.

Among the highlights of Ancient City is the replica of the Grand Palace of Ayutthaya which was destroyed by the Burmese in 1767, the ancient Khmer Phimai Sanctuary of Nakhon Ratchasima, and Wat Khao Phra Viharn (known as Preah Vihear in Khmer), the ancient Khmer ruin at the border between Thailand and Cambodia.

How to reach Ancient City

Ancient City is located at km 33 of Sukhumvit Road towards Bangpoo. It is in fact quite near the mouth of the Chao Phraya River.
