Pansea Beach (GPS: 7.9829, 98.27652) is the beach immediately to the north of
Surin Beach, in
Central Western Phuket. Also called Hat Pansea, Pansea Beach was originally known as Hat Surin Noi, or "Small Surin Beach". It received a name change after a resort by that name, now no longer operating, was established there.
Pansea Beach is separated from Surin Beach by a small headland called. It can only be accessed by the country lane that goes to the Chedi Phuket and Amanpuri luxury resorts. Amanpuri, practising a stiff upper lip worthy of a grand resort that it is, does not announce its presence down the lane - so you either know how to reach it or you don't.
