York Close (Solok York) (18 May 2013)
Solok York (English: York Close) is a minor road in George Town, Penang. It connects with York Road on one end, and leads to the Deva Sri Muthu Mariamman & Deva Sada Muniswarar Temple on the other. In between, York Close also forms a junction, with York Crescent.
York Close developed out of country paths in the area that have existed for over a hundred years. In fact, the Indian settlement in the area is believed to have been there as early as the 19th century, if not earlier. When York Close was created, it simply cuts through the existing settlement. I believe a few houses had to make way for the road, while later houses simple developed along its sides.

Getting there
There are no buses to York Close, the nearest bus stop being at Jalan Air Itam, some 10-15 minutes away.View York Close (Solok York), Penang in a larger map
