Persiaran Siakap is a residential street in the Siakap precinct of Seberang Jaya, Seberang Perai, Penang. It connects Tingkat Siakap 11 in the northeast to Lengkok Siakap 3 in the southwest. Along its route, it is crossed by Lengkok Siakap 5. The stretch between Tingkat Siakap 11 and Lengkok Siakap 5 operates as a one-way road, while the section from Lengkok Siakap 5 to Lengkok Siakap 3 is a two-way street.
Persiaran Siakap serves as one of the main access streets within the neighbourhood, helping to distribute local traffic between Tingkat Siakap 11 and the adjoining Lengkok roads. Its combination of one-way and two-way stretches ensures smoother traffic flow, particularly during peak hours, while still preserving the residential character of the precinct. The road is lined mainly with terrace houses, many of which have been renovated or extended to suit the needs of growing families.
The road, like others in the Siakap precinct, was established in the late 1970s and early 1980s as part of the planned township of Seberang Jaya1. This development was closely tied to the growth of the Perai Industrial Estate and the increasing demand for middle-class housing on the mainland. The name “Persiaran” indicates that it is a slightly broader street than the adjoining lanes, designed to support higher vehicle circulation within the precinct.
Homes along Persiaran Siakap are predominantly terrace houses, with built-up areas between 1,100 sq ft (102 sq m) and 1,600 sq ft (149 sq m)2. In 2025, property prices for intermediate units typically range from RM420,000 to RM550,000, while corner units may fetch between RM600,000 and RM700,0003. Rental rates are generally in the region of RM1,300 to RM1,900 per month4.
Residents of Persiaran Siakap benefit from easy access to the amenities of Seberang Jaya. The road is within close proximity to schools, surau, local eateries, and minimarkets, with Sunway Carnival Mall and Seberang Jaya Hospital located just a short drive away. Green spaces and small playgrounds in the vicinity provide recreational areas for children and families.
Persiaran Siakap is linked to the larger network of Siakap precinct roads, with convenient access to Jalan Siakap and Jalan Baru. From there, motorists can reach the North–South Expressway, the Butterworth area, and the Penang Bridge. Public transportation is also available via Rapid Penang bus services operating along Jalan Baru5.
The road name “Siakap” refers to the Asian seabass, a versatile and highly prized fish in Malaysian cuisine. This naming theme is consistent across the precinct, creating a strong sense of identity and local character within the neighbourhood.
