The name "Brickworks" recalls the area’s early history, when brick kilns operated in Bukit Batok to supply construction materials for Singapore’s development. Today, Brickworks has been transformed into a modern residential estate, consisting primarily of HDB flats with supporting amenities. Its land use is mainly residential, supplemented by neighbourhood shops, schools, and recreational facilities that serve the growing community.
