Sri Damansara Barat MRT Station (PY06; GPS: 3.19834, 101.6086) is an elevated station along the MRT Putrajaya Line, serving the western part of the Sri Damansara township. It provides convenient transit access for commuters from the Damansara Damai and Sri Damansara areas. The station lies approximately 17 kilometres northwest of Dataran Merdeka, the traditional Zero Mile of Kuala Lumpur.
The Sri Damansara Barat MRT Station is one of three MRT stations serving the Sri Damansara area, together with Sri Damansara Sentral MRT Station and Sri Damansara Timur MRT Station. Located beside Persiaran Dagang, the station serves as an important gateway for the western section of the township, offering residents direct access to the MRT Putrajaya Line for seamless travel to Kuala Lumpur city centre and beyond.
The station is integrated with feeder bus routes operated by Rapid KL, which connect to surrounding residential neighbourhoods, commercial zones, and educational institutions in Sri Damansara and Bandar Menjalara. The availability of drop-off zones and nearby parking areas also supports the park-and-ride concept for commuters travelling into the city.
Sri Damansara Barat MRT Station began operations on 16 June 2022 as part of the Phase 1 opening of the MRT Putrajaya Line1. It is located between Damansara Damai MRT Station (PY05) to the west and Sri Damansara Sentral MRT Station (PY07) to the east. The line provides a direct connection through Kuala Lumpur city centre to key hubs such as Tun Razak Exchange and continues southward to Putrajaya.
The station serves the residential and commercial sectors of Sri Damansara, with nearby landmarks including the Sri Damansara Industrial Park, AEON Mall Metro Prima, and the Damansara Avenue development. Its strategic position along the Kepong–Damansara corridor makes it an important node for local commuters and workers in surrounding business zones.
The opening of Sri Damansara Barat MRT Station has greatly improved public transport connectivity for the Sri Damansara community, reducing reliance on private vehicles and easing road congestion along major routes such as the Damansara–Puchong Highway and the Federal Highway. It also strengthens the integration of Kuala Lumpur’s expanding mass rapid transit network.
