Arau Railway Station (GPS: 6.431887, 100.269183) is one of the two main railway stations in Perlis. Located in the royal town of Arau, it is the last stop for the train before reaching Padang Besar on the Malaysia-Thai border. The station south of Arau is the Kodiang Railway Station in Kedah. The train does not go to Kangar, which does not have a station, so people in Kangar has to take the train in Arau.
The Arau Railway station is located behind the State Mosque which is along the main road, the Perlis State Route R3. Since 2013, it has undergone a major facelift in preparation for the launch of the KTM Electric Train Service, which was operational from 11 July, 2015. This is the penultimate station of the ETS between the Alor Setar Railway Station and the Padang Besar Railway Station, which is the northern terminus. Trains from KL Sentral in the south and Padang Besar in the north.

Getting there
The Arau Railway Station is located behind the State Mosque of Perlis, which is off the main road that goes between Arau and Kangar (that's Perlis State Route R3). If you are coming from the North-South Expressway, it will be on your left.
Old Arau Railway Station
