Tanjung Kling is a small coastal town in
Melaka Tengah District, Malacca. Its name refers to the cape jutting into the
Straits of Malacca, and the name "Kling" refers to Indian seafarers who arrived there during the 15th century.
Tanjung Kling is located on the coast between Tanjung Bidara and
Klebang. It has a number of beach resort taking advantage of its location, among them Everly Beach Resort, Shah's Beach Resort and Klebang Beach Resort.
Perhaps the most popular tourist sight in Tanjung Kling is the
Hang Tuah Mausoleum. It is located along Jalan Pekan Tanjung 2, next to the Malay cemetery. The grave has been restored, painted, and guarded with a gate. Although it is regarded as the grave of the most celebrated warrior of the Sultanate of Malacca, in fact there is no reliable evidence that the grave is that of Hang Tuah.
