Menara Taming Sari - Malacca's Revolving Tower
Menara Taming Sari (GPS: 2.19092, 102.2469) is Malacca’s first and only revolving gyro tower, offering a panoramic bird’s-eye view of Malacca from 110 metres above ground. Since its opening in 2008, it has become one of the city’s most recognisable modern landmarks, attracting visitors eager to see the historic cityscape, river, and coastline from an entirely new perspective. 1
What is Menara Taming Sari?
The tower is a Swiss-designed revolving observation platform that slowly rotates 360° as it ascends, giving passengers a complete aerial view of the city in a comfortable, enclosed cabin. The ride lasts around seven minutes, making it a quick but memorable way to orient yourself and appreciate the blend of old and new Malacca. 2

Menara Taming Sari is conveniently located on Jalan Merdeka, Bandar Hilir, close to Dataran Pahlawan Megamall, Mahkota Parade, and a short walk from Dutch Square and the A Famosa area. Its central position makes it easy to combine with sightseeing in the city centre. 3

The tower usually opens daily from 9:00am until 11:00pm, with the last ride around 10:30pm. Peak times include weekends, public holidays, and evenings when visitors gather for sunset and night views. 5
