Jalan CM Hashim, Tanjong Tokong (17 January 2017)
Jalan C.M. Hashim is a minor road in Tanjong Tokong, Penang. It is the road located next to the Penang Chinese Swimming Club. Once a quiet road lined with landed properties, Jalan C.M. Hashim has lately seen some commercial development.
Jalan C.M. Hashim is the site of Naza Hotel, which has since been taken over, and is now operating as Hotel Sentral Seaview. There are a few restaurants on this road too, including a popular hawker centre, Viva Local Food Haven. Deeper in, there is another two restaurants, the New Dragon Gate and Seawind Beach Cafe. The latter has a lovely sea front, and also offers very tasty food.
Among the other businesses operating at Jalan C.M. Hashim is the Ardour Spa. According to information that I was able to glean, C.M. Hashim is Che Din bin Mohd. Hashim, who was also known as Tan Sri C.M. Hashim. He is also known as Che Din Allen Dennys, because he once worked for that English company, before eventually buying it up after Allen Dennys pass on.
