Jalan Baru, Prai (11 September 2015)
Jalan Baru is a major road in Prai, Penang. Its name means "new road", because it is the extension of the existing main road, now known as Jalan Besar, when Prai was developed eastward.
Jalan Baru starts at the meeting point of Jalan Besar and Jalan Chain Ferry. It ends at the junction with Jalan Permatang Pauh, Jalan Permatang Batu and Jalan Bukit Tengah. With successive development, the construction of the Butterworth Outer Ring Road and the various interchanges, the original Jalan Baru is no longer that clear.
