Go BackDoubleTree Resort at Hilton Penang offers a Chinese Set Menu which is ideal for family gatherings, business dinners and wedding banquets. My wife and I had the privilege of trying out some of the dishes.
The Chinese Set Menu is an 8-course dinner with tea. Here's a run down of the items.
- Traditional Prawn Salad with Fresh Fruits Salad, Marinated Fried Chicken Popcorn with Thai Chilli Mayonnaise, Steamed Crystal Prawn Dumpling and Deep Fried Calamari Ring with Salt and Pepper.
- Double Boiled Chicken Broth with Dried Seafood and Bamboo Pith
- Oven Baked Hong Kong Roasted Duck
- Steamed Live Red Lion with Asian Spice Puree
- Braised Sea Cucumber, Shittake Mushroom and Broccoli with Dried Scallop Sauce
- Stir Fried Live Tiger Prawns with Creamy Indonesian Sauce
- Stir Fried Hong Kong Noodles with Shredded Duck and Bean Sprouts
- Chilled Mango Puree with Sago and Vanilla Ice Cream
- Chinese Tea
Gala Chinese Set Menu
- Traditional Salmon Roll with Quail Egg Topped with Curry Mayo, Wok Fried Flower Escargot with Black Bean Sauce, Steamed Jade Crystal Dim Sum with Egg Drop Sauce, Freshly baked Mini Tartlet Cheesy Seafood Thermidor.
