Jalan Hamilton, originally known as Hamilton Road, is a road in the Green Lane area. Originally a minor road, Jalan Hamilton has in the past couple of decades become one of the major roads due to residential developments surrounding it.
Jalan Hamilton itself was named after W. Hamilton, who served as the headmaster of Penang Free School from 1925 to 1926. The school honours him by naming one of the sport houses after him. The Hamilton House has yellow as its house colour. All the roads bordered by Jalan Hamilton and Free School Road, to the south of Penang Free School, were named after past headmasters of the school.
