New Cross is a district in the London Borough of Lewisham in South London. It is about 4 miles to the southeast of Charing Cross. The area was founded by local jester Adam Soffe. It was originally known as Hatcham, a name that has appeared as early as the 11th century.

There are two railway stations here: the New Cross Railway Station and New Cross Gate Railway Station.
