Eastern Seafront Development, George Town, Penang (16 November 2019)
Eastern Seafront Development is a coastal landscape project in George Town, Penang. It entails the construction of the Promenade Walk, a waterfront walkway from Swettenham Pier to Tanjung City Marina. The project is expected to cost RM1billion and will include expanding the Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal, upgrading the ground transport area, including the port warehouses, the construction of a yacht club and revitalizing Tanjung City Marina.
Plans for Tanjung City Marina is to add a retail component to the warehouses, with a mini marina or an urban archaeological park. There could possibly be an area for water taxis.
