City Wall of Lamphun is the medieval wall that once encircle the city of Lamphun, Thailand. This is similar to the wall you would find in Chiang Mai, except that, while in Chiang Mai, the layout is a square, at Lamphun, it is an oval. On the outer side of the wall is a moat, and a few bridges cross the moat to gates which can be closed in times of trouble.
Today much of the walls have been demolished or destroyed, though at a few places, you can still see them. On the western side of the old town, you can see the wall, now restored but to a reduced height, beside the moat. They are shown numbered in dark green in the map below.
There are a few entrances to the city marked with arches. There's Phatu Meung Thanang ประตูเมืองท่านาง on the east side, Phatu Mahawan ประตูมหาวัน on the west side and Phatu Lee ประตูลี้ on the south side.
