Khao Luang National Park is a national park of Thailand located in
Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. It covers 570 sq km (220 sq mi) and has a rich variety of wildlife. Visitors can also enjoy its rivers and waterfalls.
Khao Luang National Park was named after Khao Luang, a mountain in southern Thailand which stands at 1,780 m (5,840 ft). Khao Luang is part of the Phuket mountain range. It consists of granite and loose soil.
Khao Luang National Park was designated on 18 December, 1974. It was the ninth national park of Thailand. The park headquarters is located some 30 kim (19 mi) from the provincial capital of
Nakhon Si Thammarat.
