The Sriracha Tiger Zoo is said to have the largest collection of Bengal tigers. It began breeding tigers in 1989, and by 2009, has about four hundred tigers. The zoo is famous for breeding tigers alongside pigs. Often tiger cubs are nursed by swines while piglets nursed by tigress. This in itself has become an attraction of Sriracha Tiger Zoo.

In addition to tigers, the other animals at the Sriracha Tiger Zoo include pigs, crocodiles, elephants, orang utan, camels, donkey, and others.

There are animal performances at various times of the day at Sriracha Tiger Zoo including Tiger Show, Elephant Show, Crocodile Show and Pig Show. The zoo has garnered some controversy from animal rights groups such as the Animal Welfare Institute which in 2004 accused the zoo of staging "potentially dangerous human-tiger and human-elephant interactions" in its performances. To this can also be added the potentially dangerous human-crocodile interactions.

Of a less harmful nature are the pig shows where the pigs demonstrate their intelligence in counting and color identification. There are also pig racing contests staged daily.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
