Vachiratharn Waterfall (GPS: 18.542, 98.59825; Thai: น้ำตกวชิรธาร ), also written Wachiratarn Waterfall, is a popular waterfall in the Doi Inthanon National Park. Located off Highway 1009 in Ban Luang, Chiang Mai Province, it is one of the most visited waterfall in the national park. Also called Tad Khongyong, Vachirathan Waterfall is part of the Doi Inthanon Waterfall. It is about 750 meters above sea level. On its opposite side is Pha Mon Kaeo, a steep cliff.

I remember Vachiratharn Waterfall as being incredibly wet. Even before you reach the look out point, the spray from the fall has gotten you soaked. Luckily my wife and I wore disposable raincoats when we approached it. Still, my hair was as well as coming in from the rain.

Getting there

The Vachiratharn Waterfall located about 7km from the summit of Doi Inthanon. Take Route 108 out of Chiang Mai, then between the towns of Khuang Pao and Chom Thong, turn right into Route 1009 which goes all the way to Vachiratharn Waterfall.
