Chinese New Year is fast approaching. To welcome in the auspicious festivities, Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa and Golden Sands Resort, Penang, are presenting an array of festive delicacies.
Over at Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, the resort's signature restaurant Spice Market Café is featuring a Spring Time Buffet Dinner priced at RM288 nett per adult, RM144 nett per child aged from 6 to below 12. On Chinese New Year's Day, there will be a Chinese New Year Buffet Brunch at RM198 nett per adult and RM99 nett per child. Brunch is from 12 noon to 3:00 pm.
On the 1st and 2nd evenings of Chinese New Year (25 and 26 January 2020), Spice Market Café will feature the Spice & Happiness Buffet Dinner priced at RM268 nett per adult and RM134 nett per child.
Over at Golden Sands Resort, Penang, Garden Café is featuring a Happiness Reunion Buffet Dinner and a Reunion Chinese Set Dinner. The Happiness Reunion Buffet Dinner includes a complimentary glass of mocktail and entertainment by the Chinese Orchestra. The buffet dinner is priced at RM128 nett per adult and RM64 nett per child aged from 6 to below 12. The Happiness Reunion Chinese Set Dinner is for tables of 10 and includes a bottle of red wine. The set dinner is priced at RM1,388 nett per table.
On the 1st and 2nd day of Chinese New Year (25 and 26 January 2020), Garden Café will serve a Fatt Choy Brunch at RM118 nett per adult and RM59 nett per child aged from 6 to below 12. On the 1st evening of Chinese New Year, Garden Café will have the feast, Fortune Seafood Buffet Dinner, priced at RM128 nett per adult and RM64 nett per child.
Over at Sigi's Bar & Grill, there is a Prosperity BBQ Buffet Dinner on the evening of 26 January 2020, at 6:30pm to 10:00pm, priced at RM128 nett per adult and RM64 nett per child.
Finally, Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa's Rasa Deli has made available Yee Sang from 24 January until 8 February. These are available with Salmon at RM100 nett, with Jellyfish and Abalone at RM88 nett and with Fruits at RM58 nett.

Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa held a Chinese New Year food preview session yesterday. It was attended by members of the local print and social media. My wife and I had the chance to join this preview. It was held at the Garden Wing of the resort. On top of trying out all the delicious food prepared by Executive Chef Lim Soon Leong and his team, there was also an Angpow designing contest of which I managed to win the second prize!After the activities, we all adjourned to Spice Market Café where a sumptuous feast of Chinese New Year dishes were served to us.
