It was such a grand affair last night when Lexis Suites Penang rolled out its Chnese New Year dining promotion. Called an Auspicious & Prosperous Celebration, the promotion offers diners a wide range of options including sumptuous buffet dinner, steamboat set dinner and 9-course set meals. In addition, there is the Prosperity Salmon Yee Sang. These are all specially prepared by Executive Chef Johnno Fong and his talented culinary team.

What's available

CNY Reunion Buffet Dinner, which comes with a customized complimentary Yee Sang set, is available in the evening of 4 Feb 2019, from 6:30pm to 10:30pm, and is priced at RM120 nett (adult), RM90 nett (senior citizen) and RM70 nett (child).

Prosperous Chinese New Year 9-Course Set Menu with Yee Sang is available from 4 Feb to 19 Feb 2019, 6:30pm to 10:30pm, and is available at price options of RM888 nett, RM1088 nett and RM1388 net for a table of ten.

Prosperous Steamboat Set Dinner is available from 4 Feb to 19 Feb 2019, and is priced at RM360 nett (4 pax), RM500 nett (6 pax) and RM988 nett (10 pax).

Prosperity Salmon Yee Sang, which can be ordered on its own, is available from 4 Feb to 19 Feb, and is priced at RM108 nett per set (10 pax).

Chinese New Year Preview Dinner at Lexis Suites Penang

Lexis Suites Penang held a preview of their 2019 Chinese New Year dining promotion on 7 January, 2019. It was attended by various invited members of the local social media community.

My wife and I were pleased to be among the invited. When we arrived, we were thrilled to see that the hotel's main dining outlet, Roselle Coffee House, is all bedecked with Chinese New Year ornamentation, including peach blossoms, gold nuggets and carps, all of which carry auspicious significance for the ushering in of the Year of the Pig.

There were items from the buffet, the set course dinner, the steamboat and Yee Sang all taking pride of place at various parts of the large dining hall. Highlights of the evening include the immense prawns on ice, which are fresh and succulent, the lobster wok, the steamboat, and even the deliciously prepared Fatt Choi Scallop Meat Yee Foo Noodles .
