Celebrate the Durian Season with Cititel Penang's Weekend Themed Buffet (date)
Now that it is the durian season, Cititel Penang is offering diners an opportunity to indulge in a wide selection of durian-themed desserts throughout the fruiting season. These durian desserts are available as an add-on to Cititel's themed buffets, which are the Japanese & Seafood buffet every Friday night from 6:30pm to 9:45pm, the Japanese, Seafood & Penang Local Delicacies themed buffet on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, and the Grill, Roast & Seafood themed buffet every Saturday from 6:30pm to 9:45pm.
The weekend themed buffet lunch is priced at RM65nett (adult), RM31nett (child) and RM44nett (senior citizen). The Buffet dinner is priced at RM103nett (adult), RM52nett (child) and RM72nett (senior citizen). All prices include 10% service charge and 6% SST. Reservations are recommended.

On 15 June, 2019, my wife and I joined members of the local social media community to review the durian desserts that was available at Cititel Penang's weekend themed buffet. In addition to the buffet items itself, the restaurant has prepared a wide selection of desserts with durians. I particularly enjoyed the Durian Ice Cream, Durian Crème Caramel and the Durian Cheese Cake. In addition to that, there was Durian Cream Puffs, Durian Mousse Cake and Durian Pengat.The highlight of the evening was a demonstration by the sous chef in preparing Spaghetti Carbonara on a Parmesan Cheese Wheel.
