Putra Permai MRT Station (PY37) is an elevated station on the MRT Putrajaya Line located in the suburb of Putra Permai, Seri Kembangan, Selangor. It lies between Taman Equine MRT Station (PY36) to the northeast and 16 Sierra MRT Station (PY38) to the southwest1.
The Putra Permai MRT Station began operations on 16 March 2023 as part of Phase Two of the MRT Putrajaya Line rollout2. It provides efficient public transit access for residents of Putra Permai, Equine Park, and the surrounding Seri Kembangan corridor, helping to ease congestion on major routes such as the Damansara–Puchong Expressway (LDP) and Jalan Putra Permai3.
The station is built as an elevated structure with two side platforms and a central concourse equipped with fare gates, ticket vending machines, and a staffed customer service office. It also features lifts, escalators, and covered pedestrian walkways for passenger convenience4.
Facilities include restrooms, retail kiosks, and a dedicated feeder bus terminal operated by Rapid KL. Ample parking spaces and bicycle racks are provided for commuters who prefer park-and-ride or cycle-to-transit options5.
The Putra Permai MRT Station is well-integrated with the surrounding transport network. Rapid KL feeder buses serve nearby residential and commercial areas, linking commuters to AEON Mall Taman Equine, Pasar Borong Selangor, and Taman Dato’ Demang6.
From this station, passengers can travel directly to Kuala Lumpur city centre via interchange stations such as Ampang Park MRT Station and Tun Razak Exchange MRT Station, where the MRT Kajang Line intersects7.
The station serves several key destinations including Putra Walk, Putra Permai Commercial Centre, Putra Permai LRT Depot, and Putra Permai Mosque. Educational institutions such as Rafflesia International School and SMK Putra Perdana are also nearby8.
Putra Permai is a well-developed township in Seri Kembangan, known for its mix of residential, educational, and retail establishments. The arrival of the MRT Putrajaya Line has significantly enhanced the area’s appeal, with growing property and commercial interest due to improved accessibility9.
The surrounding corridor is expected to benefit from future transit-oriented developments (TODs) and mixed-use projects planned along the MRT Putrajaya Line. These projects aim to promote sustainable urban growth in the southern Klang Valley10.
