Istana Perlis, Arau (31 October, 2009)


The Royal Palace of Perlis (GPS: 6.43085, 100.27178) is located in Arau, a short distance from the State Mosque. As you probably know, the ruler of Perlis does not stay in the main town and capital, Kangar, but instead has his residence in the royal town, Arau. Nonetheless the two towns are just about twenty minutes from each other.

Not far from the royal palace is the Arau Railway Station. I suppose in the old days this is convenient for His Royal Highness whenever he has to go somewhere in the country, the train station is just nearby.

The Royal Palace of Perlis is not open to the public, so I only managed to shoot it from outside the fence. It is located along the main road of Arau, which is Perlis State Route R3.
