Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Ipoh (19 October, 2018)
Jalan Sultan Iskandar is a major road in Ipoh, Perak. It is a one-way road that starts at Bulatan Sultan Ismail, and ends at Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab. The road connects the New Town to the Old Town of Ipoh, across the Kinta River. Many roads form junctions and intersections with it. They include Jalan Ali Pitchay, Jalan Church, Jalan Yang Kalsom, Jalan Raja Ekram, Jalan Dato Tahwil Azar, Jalan Raja Musa Aziz, Jalan Datuk Onn Jaafar, Lintasan Pasar Baru, Hala Pasar Baru, Jalan Laxamana, Jalan Bijeh Timah, Jalan Bandar Timah and Jalan Sultan Yusuf.
Jalan Sultan Iskandar was originally called Hugh Low Street. It was named after Sir Hugh Low, the fourth British Resident of Perak, who served from 1 April, 1877 to 31 May, 1889. The road was renamed after Sultan Iskandar Shah, the 30th Sultan of Perak, in 1975. Sultan Iskandar Shah reigned from December 1918 to 14 August 1938.
