Sunway Putra Mall, Kuala Lumpur

Sunway Putra Mall (GPS: 3.16633, 101.6928) is a shopping mall in the Chow Kit neighbourhood of Kuala Lumpur. It is located on Jalan Putra, across the road from Putra World Trade Centre. Built by Metroplex Holdings and opened on 12 June, 1987, it was originally known as The Mall, it was the biggest shopping centre in the country at the time it opened. The original anchor tenant was Yaohan, which operated at the mall from its opening until 1997, when the mother company became bankrupt.

The hotel component of the project was called Legend Hotel. Together, The Mall and Legend Hotel became part of Putra Place. In March 2011, Putra Place was acquired by Sunway REIT for RM513.94 million.1. The shopping mall closed for refurbishment in May 2013, and it reopened on 28 May, 2015, where it was rebranded as Sunway Putra Mall. Similarly, Legend Hotel was also rebranded and is now known as Sunway Putra Hotel.

Taking public transport to Sunway Putra Mall

The most convenient way to reach Sunway Putra Mall is to take the LRT to the PWTC LRT Station, which is located right beside the shopping mall. Also close by is the Putra Komuter Station.

If driving, entrance to the car park of the mall is located off Jalan Putra, near the overhead pedestrian bridge. The coordinate for the entrance is 3.166660, 101.692344.
