Over the decades, Jinjang has transformed from a rural settlement into a lively urban suburb featuring local eateries, traditional markets, and mixed residential developments. The MRT station provides convenient access for residents from areas such as Jinjang Utara, Jinjang Selatan, and Taman Fadason2.

The elevated structure of the station allows it to blend efficiently with the surrounding built environment. Located along Jalan Kepong, it offers pedestrian access from both sides of the road and connects to several nearby bus stops for easy interchange3.

Facilities and Layout

The station features two side platforms serving two tracks, along with a concourse level that houses fare gates, ticket vending machines, customer service counters, and essential amenities such as lifts and restrooms. It also includes sheltered walkways and bicycle parking areas4.

Rapid KL feeder buses operate from Jinjang MRT Station, providing last-mile connections to nearby residential areas and local landmarks not directly accessible by rail5.

Connectivity

Jinjang MRT Station is located between Kepong Baru MRT Station (PY10) in the northwest and Kentonmen MRT Station (PY12) in the southeast. These stations form part of the MRT Putrajaya Line’s Phase 1 network, which opened to the public on 16 June 20226.

Through the MRT Putrajaya Line, commuters can reach major interchanges such as Titiwangsa MRT Station, Maluri MRT Station, and Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) MRT Station, where they can transfer to other MRT, LRT, and Monorail lines7.

Significance

The opening of the Jinjang MRT Station has brought renewed economic activity and convenience to one of Kuala Lumpur’s most historic communities. It has reduced travel times between Jinjang and central Kuala Lumpur while easing road congestion along Jalan Kepong and Jalan Jinjang8.

In addition, the station has contributed to the ongoing revitalisation of the Jinjang area, encouraging new commercial growth and residential projects while improving overall urban mobility within northern Kuala Lumpur9.
