Jalan Kampung Jawa, Butterworth

Jalan Kampung Jawa is a minor road in Bagan Luar, Butterworth. It was named after the Malay settlement that development in the area in the early part of the 20th century. Despite the name Kampung Jawa, I believe the settlement is a mix of Malay, or Peranakan Pekan, people, but more research into this has to be done to shed more light into the matter.
Jalan Kampung Jawa connects with the main road, Jalan Bagan Luar to the west, and with Jalan Bagan Baru 1 to the east. Today traces of that settlement has been largely erased, as Jalan Kampung Jawa is now part of downtown Butterworth.
