Selera Nusantara: 2019 Olive Tree Hotel Ramadan Buffet

With the Muslim holy month of Ramadan around the corner, Olive Tree Hotel Penang has launched its 2019 Ramadan buffet. This year's theme is Selera Nusantara. A preview was held at the hotel's main dining outlet, Sukkah Coffee House, on 8 April, 2019. My wife and I had a chance to try it out.

Selera Nusantara offers a mouth-watering spread of traditional, Muslim as well as cross-cultural items, including Gulai Daging Batang Pisang, Ayam Percik, Lamb Varuval, Ketam Masak Lemak Cili Padi and Ayam Kalio. Various stalls are set up along the side dishing out crab-meat Char Koay Teow, Roti John and Thai Pattaya Kebab. There are Middle Eastern items too such as the Chicken Sharwama. For those with a sweet tooth, the hotel has prepared various cakes, puddings, mousse, local kuih and bubur pulut hitam.

Selera Nusantara Buffet Dinner will be held from 13 to 31 May, 2019, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. It is priced at RM99 nett per adult. Diners can enjoy reduced price by planning ahead and pre-purchasing their dinner. If purchased between 1-30 April, 2019, the buffet is just RM79 nett per person, and between 1-12 May, it is RM89 nett per person.
