Valentine Suite Stay @ Olive Tree Hotel (12 February 2019)


Valentine Suite Stay is a special package offered by Olive Tree Hotel on the occasion of Valentine's Day 2019. It offers a one-night stay at the hotel's Executive Suite, with in-room 5-course Fusion Set Dinner for two, a bottle of wine, in-room breakfast for two, and Valentine's gift for the couple. This package is specially prepared for 14-17 February, 2019. However, couples may book it for their wedding anniversary, at any time of the year.





My wife and I were thrilled when we were invited to try out the Valentine's Suite Stay. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were warmly greeted and taken up to the suite on the 22nd floor of the hotel. I believe it is the executive suite that we have occupied before. It is one of the loveliest rooms in the hotel, offering a splendid view of Setia SPICE and the rolling panorama from Relau to Bukit Jambul.

Upon entering the master bedroom, we were delighted to see that it was so romantically set up with red, pink and white balloons, and the towels were folded to resemble swans. What a lovely set up.

And outside, in the living room, a table has been set for us right next to the window, where we could dine while enjoying the view. It was beautifully decorated, and strewn with rose petals.

Our personal butler was Mr Aliff, who looked so handsome in his butler uniform. He prepared our table, uncorked a bottle of 2017 Luis Felipe Edwards merlot.

The appetizer was Grilled Smoked Duck served with Pineapple Jam, Spicy Aioli and Green Salad. This was followed by a generous serving of Cream of Broccoli Soup, with toasted bread sticks. Before proceeding to the main course, we enjoyed an Orange Sorbet.

For our main course, I opted for Pan Fried Salmon Fillet, which was served with Baby Vegetable, Sauté Japanese Soba, and drizzled with Superior Teriyaki Sauce and Green Tea Sauce. My wife had the Marinated Chicken Roulade, served with Baby Vegetable, Sauté Potato, Mushroom Ragout and drizzled with Berry Balsamic Reduction.

Both my wife and I were quite full after the main course, but there's one more item on the menu, and that's the dessert. It was Chocolate Banana de Gato, served with Vanilla Ice Cream. And it was so delicious. Not only that, so romantically presented, with the chocolate shaped like a dancing couple.

The next morning, we enjoyed in-room breakfast for two. The waiter brought us our breakfast in two serving trays. I had poached eggs while my wife had the omelette. In addition to that, there was a bowl of cereal each, a basket of pastries including toast, danish and croissants, a jug of orange juice and a kettle of coffee. There was also various cold cuts, sausages, jam and butter.

The Valentine's Suite Stay is truly a memorable Staycation for my wife and me, and we are incredibly thankful to Olive Tree Hotel for giving us the chance to enjoy it.
