Penang Sun Yat Sen Centre

Penang Sun Yat Sen Centre is a specialty museum housed in the Penang Philomatic Union, also known as the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall, at 65 Macalister Road. The centre was officially opened by the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department and former Chief Minister of Penang, Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon on Sunday, 21 November, 2010.
The Penang Sun Yat Sen Centre was created to showcase the contribution of Dr Sun Yat Sen in shaping the history of China, being the instigator in the Chinese Revolution that overthrew the Manchu Dynasty and ushering in a republican China. At the far end of the main hall is a seated statue of Dr Sun with a plaque that reads: The Father of Chinese Republic, Dr Sun persistently struggled to bring independence and democracy to China during the tumultuous years of the Qing Dynasty. He was destined to transform the destiny of China.
The Centre tells the story though dioramas beautifully created by SculptureAtWork. Among the dioramas are scenes of Sun Yat Sen at his Penang Base at 120 Armenian Street having his conference. There were also several amusing dioramas that helps to explain the history and not make it boring especially to younger audiences.
