New Ayer Itam Mosque
Masjid Baru Ayer Itam is a new mosque to serve the Muslim community of Bandar Baru Ayer Itam. At time of writing (11 Jan 2009), the mosque has yet to open to worshippers and finishing touches are being put to the building.
Masjid Baru Ayer Itam is expected to be the main mosque serving the villages of Kampung Baru, Kampung Pisang and Kampung Lembah Ria, traditional Malay villages that have existed since the 19th century.
Getting there
Masjid Baru Ayer Itam is located along Jalan Thean Teik, a short distance from Sunshine Farlim Shopping Mall. Rapid Penang Bus Nos. 202 and 203 pass along the main road in front of it.
