Iconic Hotel Penang (GPS: 5.34227, 100.43316) is a 4-star hotel in the Icon City development, in the Bukit Tengah neighbourhood of Bukit Mertajam. It opened to the public on 8 September 2016 (with its soft opening on 21 June 2016). The hotel has a total of 195 rooms on levels 8 to 15. Of these, 160 are Superior Rooms (29 sqm), 14 Deluxe Rooms (32 sqm), 14 Premier Rooms (37 sqm) and 7 Executive Rooms (42 sqm). The rooms are finished according to three striking motifs, called Modern, Urban and Contemporary. All rooms are equiped with a 40 inch LED TV, a mini bar, a full range of toiletries, hair dryer, facial mirror, free coffee and tea making facilities, a safe deposit box and bathrobe.
Iconic Hotel Penang has two restaurants, the main restaurant called Mezza9, on the second floor (or rather, perhaps the mezzanine floor), and the lobby lounge, called Crumbles & Cream. Also, in-house guests enjoy 24-hour in-room dining.
To cater to corporate events as well as wedding banquets, Iconic Hotel Penang has one grand ballroom (called Iconic Ballroom) and six function rooms (named Iconic 1 to 5, and Mezza Room). Partitioning of the function rooms are adjustable to cater to events of differing sizes.
To provide for a contemporary lifestyle, Iconic Hotel Penang has free WIFI in both public areas and guestrooms. Room guests have at their disposal the business centre with secretarial services, an executive lounge, a gym, a sauna and a glass-walled swimming pool, all on Level 8 of the hotel, and complimentary parking at the hotel's multi-storey car park.
