Tips for buying Residential Property in Penang

Real Estate Review: Desa Samudra, Logan Road

Desa Samudra is an 8-storey upper medium cost apartment along Logan Road in George Town, Penang. Built in 1994, the low density apartment has only 28 units on freehold tenure. Each unit is 1,066 square feet in built-up area. The estimated selling price is RM260,000 to RM315,000 while the estimated monthly rental is RM1,000 to RM1,500. Maintenance fee is at RM185 per month.

Facilities

Facilities include security services, parking lot, gymnasium and intercom.

Location

Desa Samudra is 2.0 km from Magazine Circus. This is great for those working in the city. But if you are working in the south side, such as the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone, you may prefer to find somewhere further south.

Public Transport

Walk to Anson Road, where you can catch Rapid Penang bus 10 or 104, or to Perak Road for bus 101.

Amenities

Methodist Girls School, Pykett Methodist School, Francis Light School and Convent Dato Kramat are just a short distance away, as is KDU College Penang. The nearest market is the Anson Road Market. The nearest shopping centre is Penang Plaza. Nearest petrol station is the Esso at Macalister Road and BHP along Anson Road. The nearest hospital is Loh Guan Lye Specialist Centre which is also along Logan Road.

Traffic

Traffic along Anson Road and Perak Road, on either ends of Logan Road is continuously heavy during the day. Due to its proximity to Methodist Girls School, Logan Road also gets some traffic generated by the school buses and parents coming to drop or fetch the students.
