Tân An is a small city in the Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam. Covering 81.79 sq km, it has a population of 165,000 people (2011 estimate). The city is the provincial capital of Long An Province. It was given city status in August, 2009.
Tân An is located about 47 km from Ho Chi Minh City. It is divided into six wards and six communes. Today it serves as one of the cities in the southern key economic region of Vietnam.
