Cholon is a busy commercial area in Ho Chi Minh City. This is the Chinatown part of the city, as Chinese traders and merchants have made this their home for the past three centuries. Today it is still one of the most vibrant part of Ho Chi Minh City.

Cholon, which is also known as District 5 of Ho Chi Minh City, has a sprawling market area. Every now and then, you can pass by a Chinese temple dedicated to one of the many Taoist deities that the people worship.
Along the way, you will see shops selling things from ceramics to curios, hats to herbs and spices to silk. It is a bustling, noisy pact, the sidewalks often crowded, and the people predominantly Chinese.
The main street in Cholon is Nguyen Trai Street. It runs through the heart of Cholon, with small side streets branching out from it.
