Bangkok Taxis are some of the most colorful cars on the roads of the metropolis. Among the colors I have seen them includes sky blue, dark blue, pink, purple, red, orange, brown, yellow-and-green, and of course white. Regardless the color, they offer the same, usually professional level of service. Having said that, whenever I have to take a taxi in Bangkok, I have a penchant for choosing the new, shiny ones!

All of these taxis are metered, with a fixed flag drop rate, with subsequent additions for distances covered, for waiting, and for being stuck in a jam. I have been stuck in a jam in Bangkok for more times than I can remember. There was once where I was in the taxi for 20 minutes, and it barely moved 100 meters - I ended up paying the fare, getting out, walking back to where I first started, and took a BTS Skytrain.

If you wish to take a taxi, be sure that you don't travel during rush hour. Otherwise you will be stuck in a jam like I had. In such an instance, taking the mass transit trains is faster.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
