S.M. Badjenid & Son, Beach Street, Penang (11 February 2013)


S.M. Badjenid & Son is a company located at the junction of Beach Street and Chulia Street. It specialises in perfumes made without alcohol. The three storey building, recently restored when this was written (Oct 2014), was built in 1925 but was destroyed during the Second World War, and was rebuilt in the same appearance.

The building has always housed S.M. Badjenid & Son, who were Yemenite traders. In addition to perfumes, the company also trade in canvas.¹
