Mee Hoon Kuih is a flour-based pancake that is often eaten as breakfast. I was first introduced to it as a small boy, when I went over to my neighbour's house and saw that they were making mee hoon kuih. Mee Hoon Kuih is pretty easy to make, and yet is surprisingly delicious.
In addition to plain mee hoon kuih, you can also add grated coconut, as in the mee hoon kuih you see in the photo above, made by my wife for our breakfast today. Other optional ingredient for mee hoon kuih is bananas.
Mee hoon kuih is regarded as a "poor man's breakfast", as it is very inexpensive and yet can feed families with many children.
