The Ipoh Eu Yan Sang Medical Hall (GPS: 4.59426, 101.0775) is located at Nos. 36-38 Jalan Bandar Timah (formerly Leech Street). It is one of the many Chinese medical halls established by tin miner Eu Kong, and then greatly expanded by his son Eu Tong Sen.
The first Eu Yan Sang opened in Gopeng in 1879. Next came the branches in Ipoh and Kampar in 1881. The Eu Yan Sang building in Ipoh was erected in 1907. Under the leadership of Eu Tong Sen, Eu Yan Sang became one of the most famous Chinese medical halls. Today the Eu Yan Sang main office is at South Bridge Road in Singapore.
