Taman Teknologi MRT Station (PY30) is a provisional and future station on the MRT Putrajaya Line, planned to serve the Technology Park Malaysia (TPM) area in southern Kuala Lumpur. The station site lies between Sungai Besi MRT Station (PY29) in Kuala Lumpur and Serdang Raya Utara MRT Station (PY31) in Selangor1.
The Taman Teknologi MRT Station was part of the original design alignment for the MRT Putrajaya Line (formerly known as the MRT Sungai Buloh–Serdang–Putrajaya Line). However, construction of the station was deferred pending future development needs in the area2.
The station site is adjacent to Technology Park Malaysia (TPM)—a hub for science, innovation, and technology companies—and close to the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) expansion corridor. The proposed station would enhance accessibility for businesses, research institutions, and nearby residential communities, such as Bukit Jalil and Sungai Besi3.
When built, the station will bridge a key gap between Sungai Besi MRT Station and Serdang Raya Utara MRT Station, offering a new transit point near major expressways including the Kuala Lumpur–Seremban Expressway and the Bukit Jalil Highway4.
The deferment of the Taman Teknologi MRT Station is in line with MRT Corp’s phased implementation strategy. Construction of the station may be reactivated once ridership demand in the surrounding area justifies it, particularly as TPM continues its transformation into a digital and innovation hub5.
The MRT Putrajaya Line infrastructure has already allocated a reserved site for the Taman Teknologi Station, ensuring that the necessary civil works can be integrated seamlessly when construction proceeds in the future6.
Although not yet operational, the proposed station’s location places it within easy reach of several key destinations, including Bukit Jalil National Sports Complex, TPM Bukit Jalil, and the southern corridor of Kuala Lumpur’s business and educational zones. The area is also served by multiple highways and Rapid KL bus routes7.
Once completed, the Taman Teknologi MRT Station will play a significant role in improving connectivity between the capital city and the outer metropolitan regions, particularly for daily commuters working in the technology and research sectors8.
