Located on Jalan Raja Alang in the Chow Kit area, it is the biggest Sikh temple in Southeast Asia, in terms of land size. The gurdward dates back to its founding in 1918, though the present building was built in 1994 and completed in 1996 at a cost of RM4.3 million. The building has four minarets, each at one corner of the building. These are topped with stylized domes. The building is back to back with the multi-storey Wisma Tatt Khalsa, which faces Jalan Raja Bot.

Guru Nanak Darbar Tatt Khalsa Diwan Selangor is a two storey building. It has a large dining hall and kitchen on the ground floor, and a car park in the basement. On the first floor is the Darbar Sahib. This is where the Sikh holy book, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, is placed.
