Bukit Bintang City Centre (GPS: 3.14053, 101.70799) is a mixed-developement project being planned in Kuala Lumpur. It will occupy the site of the now defunct Pudu Jail. The developer of the project is Eco World. It entered into a consortium agreement with UDA Holdings and the Employee Provident Fund to develop the site.
According to a report in The Star1, Eco World Development Group will begin construction on the project (which has a development cost of RM5 billion, and development value of RM8.7 billion) in the first quarter of 2016.
Bukit Bintang City Centre comprises a shopping mall called LaLaport BBCC, an entertainment hub, an 80-storey skyscraper, a small-office block, a 4-star hotel and six blocks of luxury condominiums and serviced apartments. The shopping mall will have a total area of a million square feet. The entertainment hub will include a cineplex and the Malaysia Grand Bazaar, a local crafts centre. The 80-storey skyscraper will include office units and a 5-star hotel. The entire area will be landscaped with parks and gardens.
