Al-Hana Mosque (GPS: 6.31652, 99.85277) is the main mosque in
Kuah, Langkawi. It was completed in 1959, and officiated by the first prime minister of Malaysia, the late
Tunku Abdul Rahman. It is located along
Persiaran Putra, near the
Kompleks Jeti Pelancongan and
Kompleks Pekan Rabu.
Al-Hana Mosque incorporates Islamic motif from Uzbekistan into the Malay architectural design. The mosque has a gilded main dome and numerous smaller domes that look like blobs of sugar icing on a cake. The main entrance faces Persiaran Putra.
